FAQ for Enterprise UX Researchers

What is your sample size and is the stratified sampling methodology statistically valid?

Parse My App uses a stratified sampling methodology to ensure statistically valid and representative insights. We analyze reviews intelligently sampled from up to 500 total reviews.

Reviews are sampled proportionally across all star ratings (1 through 5). For example, if an app has 30% 5-star reviews, 20% 4-star, 15% 3-star, 20% 2-star, and 15% 1-star, our sample will reflect those exact proportions.

This ensures balanced representation and reduces bias from rating surges or review bombing.

This approach is statistically valid for sentiment analysis and pattern recognition, ensuring sufficient sample sizes for identifying recurring themes, pain points, and feature requests with high confidence.

Can I segment analysis by device type, OS version, and geography?

Yes, device type segmentation is available. You can filter reviews by device type before running an analysis:

  • App Store (iOS): iPhone, iPad, Mac
  • Google Play (Android): Phone, Tablet, Chromebook

This allows you to see device-specific user experiences. For example, you might discover that iPad users hate the cramped UI while iPhone users love it, or that Android tablet users want landscape mode support.

Geographic segmentation is supported via country selection. We support 40+ countries across both App Store and Google Play, allowing you to analyze reviews from specific regions (e.g., UAE, France, Japan).

OS version filtering is not currently available as a built-in feature, but is on our roadmap.

How do you handle PII and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations?

We take data privacy and PII (personally identifiable information) seriously. Review data is fetched directly from public app stores (App Store and Google Play) and processed in real-time. We do not permanently store review text unless you explicitly save an analysis to your dashboard.

When you save an analysis, the insights (pain points, praises, trends) and a limited set of review excerpts are stored in your personal dashboard. This data is protected by row-level security in our database, meaning each user's saved analyses are isolated and inaccessible to other users.

We use Supabase Auth for authentication, which follows industry-standard security practices and complies with GDPR and other data privacy regulations. User passwords are never stored (we use Google OAuth and Magic Link passwordless authentication).

Review data fetched from public app stores contains only publicly available information (review text, star rating, date, author username). We do not access or store any private user data beyond what's publicly visible on the stores.

If you cancel your account, all saved analyses are permanently deleted within 30 days. You can also delete individual saved analyses at any time through your dashboard.
