Questions
How accurate are App Store ranks?
Approximate. iOS ranks come from Apple’s public iTunes Search API, whose ordering is close to, but not exactly, what the App Store app shows (the app also personalises results and mixes in Search Ads). Google Play ranks come from Play’s own search results page and are closer.
How deep does it search?
The top 200 results for each keyword. Below that, it reports “Not in top 200”.
Does it show search volume?
No. It shows rank, the top apps and a difficulty score, not how many people search each keyword.
How fresh are the results?
Live from the store, cached for up to 6 hours per keyword and country so repeat checks are instant.
